(NationalSentinel) You can tell that members of the Left-wing fringe of the Democrat Party are getting increasingly frustrated after failing multiple times to find some way to get rid of POTUS Donald Trump, as evidenced by their inability to think straight or tell the truth.
The latest evidence of this comes from whack job “Chicken Man” Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.), who told an interviewer Friday that it’s ‘obvious’ POTUS has committed multiple violations of…something…somewhere…at some point…to warrant impeachment proceedings.
Cohen, in an interview on CNN — where else? — had praise for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) but he disagreed with her decision not to pursue impeachment proceedings after former special counsel Robert Mueller hemmed, hawed, stammered, and stuttered his way through two committee hearings Wednesday when discussing his report that cleared the president of any wrongdoing.
“I think we should go forward with impeachment because I think as we bring out the facts in an impeachment inquiry about the violations of the emoluments clause, about what Mr. Mueller helped us see that was in the report about obstruction of justice, it lets us see the other things he’s done that have been violative of the Constitution concerning attacks on the press, attacks on the judiciary, attacks on different racial groups, that the American public will warm to impeachment and be in favor of it,” Cohen said.
“But I think you have to have those hearings and I think it’ll be helpful, and I don’t think the Senate — if the Senate doesn’t vote for it that’s their fault,” he added.
Emoluments clause? Really?
This is what makes CNN and the rest of the garbage establishment media garbage, not to mention co-conspirators in the ongoing effort to keep as many Americans as possible as uninformed about facts as possible.
Earlier this month, a federal appeals court cleared the president of any emoluments violations. The Hill reported:
The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit filed by Maryland and the District of Columbia alleging that President Trump is violating the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution, finding that they did not have the standing to sue the president.
The ruling is a major win for Trump, who has frequently sought to prevent others from reviewing his private financial records.
And it’s a sign that other lawsuits alleging similar violations of the Emoluments Clause — including one brought by more than 200 Democratic members of Congress — will face an uphill battle in succeeding.
In the opinion, Judge Paul Niemeyer wrote that the claims that government officials are staying at Trump’s Washington, D.C., hotel in order to benefit the president and not due to other factors “requires speculation” and are “simply too attenuated.”
“Indeed, there is a distinct possibility — which was completely ignored by the District and Maryland, as well as by the district court — that certain government officials might avoid patronizing the Hotel because of the President’s association with it,” Niemeyer, who was appointed by former President George H.W. Bush, wrote.
“And, even if government officials were patronizing the Hotel to curry the President’s favor, there is no reason to conclude that they would cease doing so were the President enjoined from receiving income from the Hotel,” he continued. “After all, the Hotel would still be publicly associated with the President, would still bear his name, and would still financially benefit members of his family.”
Apparently, however, this well-reasoned ruling means nothing to Cohen.
Recall that in May, Cohen pulled a stunt with a rubber chicken and a container of KFC to label Attorney General William Barr — a chicken — for his refusal to appear before the House Judiciary Committee.
It was so dumb and so over the top that even CNN lampooned him: “Just when you think our politics can’t get any dumber, along comes a congressman with some chicken…”
That any cable news channel claiming to do serious journalism still books this clown and actually asks his opinion about anything says more about them that it does about him.
