Census 2020: States should sue over loss of representatives due to large presence of illegal immigrants in others

If states don't have standing to sue over this, there is no such thing

(TNS) The Trump administration has been battling in court for the ‘authority’ to add a simple question to the 2020 Census: ‘Are you a citizen of the United States?’

Leftists who have taken over the Garbage Party have fought this tooth and nail, and thus far, they’ve been successful. Obama, over eight years, managed to appoint enough judicial activists to the federal court that they still present a formidable challenge to constitutional governance.

But the findings of a new study on the impact mass illegal immigration is having on our electoral system made the rounds last week, and they are profound. More than that, however, they lay bare the reason why 1) building walls along our southeastern border and tightening border security overall is vital to the survival of our republic; and 2) why Democrats so vehemently oppose the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

Conservative Review noted last week:

The Center for Immigration Studies published new estimates of the 2020 census that show states won by President Trump wind up losing 24 seats in the House, corresponding with a loss of 24 electoral votes, thanks to mass migration and our policy of counting immigrants for reapportionment.

In total, 26 seats are transferred as a result of factoring in total immigration, which includes those who became naturalized. If you just look at current immigrants who are not naturalized, they cause a transfer of 10 seats, thanks to the policy of counting them along with citizens in state reapportionment.

To put that in perspective, Democrats control the house with a majority of only 21 seats, yet that majority is built on the policy of counting immigrants in the political process that should be controlled exclusively by citizens.

The breakdown is as follows, according to CIS:

Ohio will have three fewer seats in 2020 than it otherwise would have had but for the presence of all immigrants and their minor children in other states. Michigan and Pennsylvania will have two fewer; and Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin will each have one fewer seat. California will have 11 more seats in 2020 than it otherwise would have; New York and Texas will have four more seats each; Florida will have three more seats; New Jersey will have two more seats; and Illinois and Massachusetts will each have one additional seat.

CR added:

Overall, 19 of the total 26 seats transferred in reapportionment due to immigration will be awarded to “solid” Democrat states: California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Illinois. Texas is the only red state that stands to gain seats from immigration, but that is also partially why its shade of red is dulling rapidly.

“Immigration profoundly redistributes political power at the federal level by changing the apportionment of House seats and votes in the Electoral College,” noted the report’s authors, Steven Camarota and Karen Zeigler.

Yes, we’ve counted foreign-born for most of our history. But the dynamics of this shifted dramatically after a 1965 immigration law which acted as a trigger for mass immigration.

Since then, “the foreign-born population has grown roughly four and a half times as a result of that legislation, along with the growth of illegal immigration,” CR reported.

Now, the question is this: How is this fair not only to the states set to lose congressional seats but to the American citizens who are going to lose representation directly due to the fact that they are being ‘outvoted’ by non-citizens?

This is more than just an academic exercise or, at least, it should be. We’re talking real numbers here; real Americans who are losing representation to non-Americans.

If there isn’t a legal argument that can be made in support of states who are being robbed of their representation, then our system is truly broken and Ann Coulter, author of “Adios, America,” has been vindicated big time.

Over the summer, the U.S. Supreme Court blocked the Trump administration from adding a citizenship question to the 2020 Census because, as The Hill reported, the “administration did not give an adequate reason for adding” it.

This new data from CIS proves that millions of American citizens will become disenfranchised (the Left’s favorite electoral word) if this wrong isn’t corrected. A question about citizenship would go a long way towards solving the problem.

Gotta be a lawsuit in there, somewhere. If states losing representation don’t have standing to sue for inclusion of a citizenship question, then there is no such thing as ‘standing’ anymore.

Update: A sharp reader pointed out to us that the state of Alabama has already filed suit against the Commerce Department for the very reason that illegal aliens are being included in the Census count, thereby denying the state representation. See, we knew we were onto something.

Many soros – backed governors have signed on for more rapefugees and NO BAIL, let felons loose to terrorize taxpayers.

We’ve had taxation without representation for decades.

It’s time to Abolish the Fed/IRS tax and debt slavery. It’s time to close our borders, deport 31,000,000 free-grazing parasites. It’s long overdue —Hang Traitors!

YEAH, BUT THE REAL QUESTION IS WHETHER OR NOT EVEN CHANGING THIS WOULD AFFECT THE 2020 ELECTION, SINCE IT WILL BE ARGUED THAT THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO PRINT UP THE BALLOTS BY NOV.3 WITH THE QUESTION ON THEM. AND IN MY OPINION, THAT WOULD MAKE THIS ENTIRE ELECTION BOGUS… JUST LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE THE DEMONRATS HAVE TRIED FOR 3 YEARS TO GET RID OF TRUMP. AND THE ANSWER WOULD BE TO CHANGE THE VOTING DATE THAT WOULD ALLOW THE QUESTION TO BE ON THE BALLOTS, AND THEN COUNT THEM LEGALLY. BUT WHAT IS GOING TO KEEP ILLEGALS FROM… Read more »
