About time: Government commission says women ought to be eligible for military draft the same. as. men.

What say you, Democrats in the House? This equal enough for you?

By Jon Dougherty @JonDougherty10

(TNS) Well, it’s about time this recommendation was made.

For years, feminists have been pushing political leaders and the Pentagon to open up every position within the U.S. military to women, regardless of the physical limitations and/or demands of such military positions.

And generally speaking, the military has done with the feminists demanded, despite the fact that the vast majority of them have never volunteered to wear a uniform themselves, much less sign up to do one of the jobs for which they were advocating.

But they always stopped short of demanding that women also register for the draft, same as men have always had to do.

Translation: ‘We want women to get the same opportunities as men but not carry the same responsibility to the country in times of crisis.’

Well, a government panel is changing that dynamic, according to The Blaze:

The 2017 Defense Authorization bill required a commission to study and make recommendations about the issue of making women eligible for the military draft, POLITICO noted.

The new government report, which POLITICO said its reporters had seen, says that women should be included in the draft. The 11-member panel presented its findings to the Pentagon on Monday and will make a presentation to staffers from the White House and Congress Tuesday.

The draft in the United States dates back to the Civil War, when both sides, North and South, resorted to involuntary call-ups of men to fill depleted ranks. But the first national conscription system officially began in 1917 after the U.S. entry into World War I.

The draft was officially shelved in 1973 but men were still required to register with the Selective Service System on their 18th birthday. Women…never.

But now that woman are eligible for every military position thanks to the political activism of the Obama regime, it’s time for them to also be forced to register with Selective Service, according to the commission.

“As Politico noted, the report does not require action by Congress or the Defense Department, but it will make it more likely that lawmakers will draft legislation to include females in the draft for the first time in the draft’s more than 100 years of existence,” The Blaze reported.

This needs to happen. What’s fair is fair, right? Equal pay and treatment for equal work and all that, correct? What say you, Democrats in the House?

But there’s also a practical reason why co-ed draft registration should be mandatory: National Security.

The pool of available male recruits has been dwindling for years due to a number of factors (obesity being the, um, ‘biggest’ reason). Opening up the draft to women will give the Pentagon an additional pool of recruits to fill critical positions during time of war.

This is insane. I was a draftee and spent over three years in the US Army. No way would I want go to into combat with female soldiers! The protection of the female is bred into man and this policy is going to get people killed. A soldier needs to be alert to fight the enemy and not worry about a woman getting her butt shot off.

Nah, women should go back to being managers of the house, raise kids. Feminazi have ruined normal nuclear families.

Women and Men are different — much better when society reverts back to the 1950s standards. Educational standards too. After 60 years, you lefty freaks have ruined America.

Women fight alongside men in Israel and do a great job. Why shouldn’t they do it in the USA too? If you don’t think women can fight like tigers, you haven’t been watching UFC.

A nation that sacrifices its women in war is a foolish nation indeed. War is a massive waste of life, but male life. Male life has less value and for a population to thrive a low number of males can work. But if you reduce your female population through war, which would kill and maim women in their prime child bearing years, this is a loss from which we might not recover.

War is men’s work. If the women politicians today are any indicator of their ability to lead in a crisis, no way should they be in the war business. The only women who had the ability to lead in battle and design military strategy are both dead: Joan of Arc and Isabella of Spain (probably the most brilliant woman in history).

Feminists are idiots. They haven’t done one thing for women and they have destroyed the family. For my part, I prefer men to be men, women to be women and everyone to know the difference.

Rather than say overweight young men are ineligible and unfit for service (one of the main reasons for suggesting we draft women in a national emergency), if the draft is re-implemented overweight young men should be charged with deliberately making themselves unfit and thus could be charged with draft dodging. This will of course ruin their future. Unless they opt to go through a special conditioning system to get them fit for service. The reason? Drafting women will not work. Psychologically, women who don’t want to volunteer just won’t cut it. Two of my daughters and my wife would never… Read more »

NO ONE should be conscripted, it is slavery. Women in combat is a stupid idea, biology cannot be overcome. It puts men at risk not having the strongest possible soldiers in their squad. PC feel good denial of reality. Sorry, men and women are different.

If all women were built like a bull moose like Joy Behar, I’d say go for it.

Women want equality, equal pay, and equal rights? Try equal responsibilities! Pay doesn’t get more equal than the military….that is if you can do the job.

This is a terrible idea! Men have a built in instinct to protect women. I was in the army and would not want to get my butt shot off while trying to protect a female soldier.

This one is a tough call. I only hope we don’t come to regret our decision, should it go either way.

Take 50 girls at random, 120 lbs. or so, load them down with combat boots, a BAR rifle, belts of ammo, a 60 lb back pack and take them on a 5 mile march over rough country in 90 degree heat. They get no rest, no makeup and no bubble bath. THEN, let the men soldiers decide if they want those women in the trenches with them.

You’re playing us all right into the hands of the feminazis… of whom would gladly follow us into battle, if it meant more quality harping time for them.

The purpose of war is to eliminate young males from the herd. Females are to be protected.

Our men in uniform should not have the added burden of assisting the weaker sex, period. It is exactly what you would have with a draft for women. They would cry ‘sexist,’ for helping them and they’d cry, ‘NOT FAIR,’ for being expected to carry equal loads. I am a strong woman who has done a lot of very heavy work, but am not physically sound enough to pack anything heavy on my back for more than an hour. I know of only a couple of women I have met in my sixty-five years who could. They were manly women.
